New Delhi, May 20, 2025: Bharti Airtel and Google have announced a strategic partnership to offer 100GB of Google One cloud storage free for six months to Airtel’s postpaid and Wi-Fi customers. The initiative targets the growing challenge of storage limitations on smartphones, offering users a seamless backup option for their data.
The offer allows Airtel users to store photos, videos, documents, and even WhatsApp chats (on Android) via Google One. The storage can be shared with up to five additional people and is available for both Android and iOS platforms. After the complimentary six-month period, users will be automatically charged ₹125 per month unless they cancel the subscription.
Karen Teo, Vice President for Google in the Asia-Pacific region, said the collaboration aims to expand access to Google’s cloud services across India. “This will give users more space to safely back up content across Google Photos, Drive, and Gmail,” she said.
Siddharth Sharma, CEO of Connected Homes and Director of Marketing at Airtel, emphasized the partnership’s practical benefits. “Storage has become a major issue for users as smartphones store both personal and professional data. This delivers a secure and easy solution for millions of our customers,” he said.
The partnership is expected to ease digital clutter for users by eliminating the constant need to delete files, while also strengthening Google’s cloud service footprint in one of its largest markets.
