Zero Success: Not a Single Student Passes in 18 Haryana Schools’ Class 12 Board Exams

Chandigarh, May 17, 2025: In a troubling revelation, 18 schools across Haryana recorded a zero percent pass rate in the Class 12 board exams conducted by the Haryana Board of School Education (HBSE) this year. Not one student from these institutions managed to clear the examination, prompting widespread concern among educators and state authorities.

The list includes both government and private schools, some with only a handful of examinees—none of whom succeeded. While the state’s overall pass percentage stood at a relatively high 85.66%, these 18 schools stood out for the wrong reasons, showcasing a shocking gap in educational outcomes.

The HBSE has responded by identifying 100 underperforming schools for further scrutiny. A detailed report has been submitted to the Ministry of Education, recommending strict action against negligent staff. Teachers in many of these schools reportedly faced excessive workloads, while students often remained absent from classes.

To address the crisis, the board has suggested immediate interventions, including teacher training, student attendance drives, and increased parental engagement. The failure has not just raised alarms about institutional accountability but also reignited debate over the quality and equity of education in Haryana.
