PM Modi Declares Operation Sindoor as India’s New Anti-Terror Doctrine

New Delhi, May 12, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation today, firmly declaring that Operation Sindoor now defines India’s official policy in the fight against terrorism. The televised speech followed a series of retaliatory strikes by Indian forces in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 civilians, most of them Hindu pilgrims.

Calling the offensive a “new normal,” Modi emphasized that India will respond to terror not just with condemnation but with decisive military action. “The world saw our resolve turn into action on May 7,” he said, adding that the days of strategic restraint are over.

Operation Sindoor targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Modi said the armed forces were given a “free hand” to neutralize threats and protect national security. “Our brave soldiers have shown that India will not hesitate,” he said.

Addressing concerns about nuclear escalation, Modi delivered a stern warning to Pakistan: “Nuclear blackmail has no place in today’s world. If anyone thinks they can hide behind it, they are mistaken.”

Modi also made it clear that India’s dialogue with Pakistan would be limited strictly to two issues terrorism and the return of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. “There will be no talks beyond this,” he said, closing the door on broader diplomatic engagement for now.

A temporary ceasefire was initiated at Pakistan’s request, but the Prime Minister clarified it is only a pause, not a peace deal. “We are alert. If provoked again, our response will be stronger and faster,” he said.

He closed his address by paying tribute to the armed forces and dedicating Operation Sindoor’s success to the nation’s women. “This mission is for the honor of our mothers and daughters. Their safety is our pride,” Modi said.
