Missiles Found in 3 Amritsar Villages After Operation Sindoor; Army Deployed, Police Leaves Cancelled

Amritsar,ay 8, 2025:  Tensions spiked near the India-Pakistan border late last night as suspected missiles were found in three villages of Punjab’s Amritsar district, triggering security alerts and immediate deployment of the Indian Army.

The missiles, discovered in Dudhala, Jethuwal, and Pandher villages, were reportedly neutralized mid-air by India’s anti-missile defense system. They failed to detonate upon landing, avoiding a major catastrophe.

Amritsar Rural SSP Maninder Singh confirmed the presence of unidentified military objects and stated that army teams had been called to investigate. “Only the army can confirm the exact nature of these objects,” he added. Police quickly secured the areas.

The incident unfolded shortly after India conducted precision air strikes under Operation Sindoor, targeting terror infrastructure across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Within seven minutes, locals reported six loud blasts, prompting authorities to initiate a region-wide blackout in Amritsar as a precautionary measure.

Two defense experts with prior experience in the Air Force have assessed the recovered devices and believe they are missiles typically used by both Indian and Pakistani forces. They suggested Pakistan may have attempted a counter-strike, but India’s missile defense systems intercepted the threat before any explosion could occur.

In light of escalating tensions, leaves for all Punjab Police personnel have been cancelled. Security has been ramped up in border areas, with forces remaining on high alert.

Residents have been urged to stay indoors and avoid approaching the missile sites. Authorities are expected to release an official statement following the army’s analysis of the objects.
