India Strikes Nine Terror Camps in ‘Operation Sindoor’ After Pahalgam Attack

New Delhi, May 7 — In a bold military response to the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam last month, India launched Operation Sindoor in the early hours of May 7, targeting nine terror camps deep inside Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir. The Indian Air Force carried out precision airstrikes around 2:00 AM, focusing exclusively on militant infrastructure.
Defense officials described the operation as “precise and proportionate,” emphasizing that no civilian or military infrastructure was targeted. The strikes were intended to dismantle critical support systems of terror groups operating across the border.

The nine locations hit in the operation were:
1. Bahawalpur – 100 km inside Pakistan, a major base for Jaish-e-Mohammed operations.
2. Muridke – 30 km inside, headquarters of Lashkar-e-Taiba.
3. Gulpur – 35 km inside, known for militant training facilities.
4. Sawai Camp – 30 km inside, used for insurgent logistics.
5. Bilal Camp – Distance undisclosed, identified as a high-value militant command center.
6. Kotli Camp – 15 km inside, part of infiltration support networks.
7. Barnala Camp – 10 km inside, used for arms storage and training.
8. Sarjal Camp – 8 km inside, a suspected launching base for incursions.
9. Mehmoona Camp – 15 km inside, linked to Hizbul Mujahideen activities.

While the Indian government has yet to release official casualty figures, sources indicate that the operation delivered a significant blow to terror outfits operating across the border.
