Chandigarh, May 3 – Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini today declared that there is no place for the evil of drugs in the “City Beautiful” Chandigarh. He participated in a foot march held to raise awareness against drug abuse, emphasizing the crucial role of youth in building a developed India by 2047.
Saini said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a developed India depends on healthy, drug-free youth. If young people stay away from addiction and channel their energy positively, they can play a transformative role in realizing the nation’s development goals.
He noted that anti-drug campaigns are being conducted nationwide as part of the Prime Minister’s mission. The march in Chandigarh, held on Saturday, witnessed enthusiastic participation from youth and parents from the tri-city area. It sent a strong message that when youth resolve to achieve something, they accomplish it with determination.

Praising the spirit of the participants, the Chief Minister said their enthusiasm reflects unwavering support for PM Modi’s dream of a developed nation. “The message is clear drugs must be eradicated completely,” he asserted, adding that Chandigarh has no room for such social evils.
Highlighting Haryana’s efforts, Saini said the state has launched extensive awareness campaigns against drug use, which are receiving strong public backing. He also assured that the government is taking strict action against those involved in drug trafficking. He urged the public to actively support and strengthen this movement, which he described not merely as a campaign, but a collective resolution to build a drug-free society and a brighter future for the youth.
The march was also attended by Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria, Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, along with several political leaders, showing united political resolve against drug abuse.
