PM Modi Inaugurates Hisar-Ayodhya Flight, Slams Congress on Ambedkar’s Legacy

Hisar (National Times): Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked a significant milestone for Haryana’s aviation sector on Monday by inaugurating the first-ever passenger flight from Hisar’s Maharaja Agrasen Airport to Ayodhya. The event coincided with the 135th birth anniversary of Dr. BR Ambedkar, a moment the Prime Minister used to reflect on his government’s commitment to social justice.

PM Modi also laid the foundation stone for a new terminal at the airport, which now connects Haryana to five Indian states. Speaking at a public rally, the PM linked the occasion with Ambedkar’s vision of inclusive growth and asserted that every government scheme under the BJP was a tribute to the Dalit icon.

In a sharp attack on the Congress, Modi accused the opposition party of humiliating Ambedkar during his lifetime and blamed it for twice defeating him in elections. He alleged that the Congress treated Dalits, tribals, and backward classes as second-class citizens and used the Constitution as a mere tool for political convenience.

He also accused the Congress of misusing laws like the Waqf Act for appeasement politics. “Under the amended Waqf provisions, tribal lands are now protected, no one can claim ownership over their ancestral lands anymore,” he said.

Criticizing the Congress-led government in Karnataka, PM Modi pointed out that reservations were being handed out on religious lines, something Ambedkar firmly opposed. “Appeasement has never helped the Muslim community; it only pleased a handful of fundamentalists,” he added.

The Hisar airport spans over 7,200 acres, including 4,200 acres for aviation infrastructure and 3,000 acres dedicated to industrial development. Flights from the newly launched facility will now connect Hisar with Ayodhya, Jammu, and other cities. The inaugural flight to Ayodhya saw passengers chanting “Jai Shri Ram” as they boarded. Over 2,500 security personnel were deployed for the event, and the rally drew attendees from across 10 districts, arriving in more than 1,500 buses.
