Every 10 Kilometers in Haryana to Have a Model Sanskriti School: Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi

Donates ₹51,000 from his salary to promote innovation in Panchkula school

Chandigarh, April 7 – Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi announced that the state government plans to establish a Model Sanskriti School every 10 kilometers across the state. This move aims to bridge the quality gap between private and government schools by focusing on the development of Model Sanskriti and Sarthak Model Schools.

Speaking as the chief guest during an interaction program with Class 12 students at PM Shri Government Model Sanskriti Senior Secondary School in Batoar village, Barwala block, Panchkula district, Rastogi emphasized the government’s commitment to providing better-than-private education at minimal cost in both rural and urban areas. He also announced a personal donation of ₹51,000 from his salary to the school to promote innovation-related activities.

Rastogi stated that the initiative targets students who, due to financial constraints, cannot afford private education, ensuring their talents do not go unnoticed. By offering quality education in government institutions, the state hopes to draw students away from private schools and into public ones that can shape their future.

Sharing his own journey from a government school student to becoming an IAS officer and Chief Secretary, Rastogi encouraged students to remain focused and confident. He responded to students’ queries with simplicity, stressing that guidance from family and teachers, along with self-belief and concentration, can help achieve any goal.

He urged principals and teachers to regularly engage in one-on-one conversations with students to boost their confidence and create an open, encouraging environment.

When students raised concerns about the lack of bus service from Batoar to Shyamdu, Rastogi assured that transportation facilities would be arranged soon.

District Education Officer Satpal Kaushik shared that Panchkula district topped the Class 10 results in Haryana for the 2024–25 session. Additionally, the district saw an increase of 68,188 admissions in government schools, ranking second in the state.

The event also featured a patriotic poem recital by eighth-grade student Divanshu, which captivated the audience.

Also present were Additional Deputy Commissioner Nisha Yadav, senior officials from the Education Department, School Principal Jitendra Sharma, Barwala Sarpanch Om Singh Rana, and principals from other government schools in the block.
