Chandigarh, March 8, 2025: Punjab is undergoing a major transformation in its education system, with a strong focus on improving teaching methods and enhancing the quality of learning in government schools. The state government has launched a series of teacher training programs, ensuring that educators adopt modern and effective teaching strategies.
Principals Sent to Singapore for Training
As part of this initiative, the seventh batch of school principals has been sent to Singapore for an advanced leadership training program. This exposure is expected to help them implement global best practices in school management and classroom teaching. Officials believe this will lead to more interactive and concept-based learning, replacing the outdated rote memorization (ratta) system.
Education experts have emphasized the need for a shift from traditional learning methods to a more practical and skill-based approach. Punjab’s Education Minister highlighted that modern teaching techniques make learning more engaging, helping students understand concepts better rather than just memorizing them.
Increased Trust in Government Schools
The reforms have already started showing results. More parents are now trusting government schools, leading to a significant increase in student enrollment. With better infrastructure, improved teaching quality, and updated curriculums, Punjab’s government schools are quickly becoming a preferred choice for many families.
The state government remains committed to further strengthening the education system, ensuring that students receive high-quality learning opportunities that equip them for the future.
