PCB Seeks Explanation from ICC Over Champions Trophy Branding Omission

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has raised concerns with the International Cricket Council (ICC) over the absence of Pakistan’s name from the Champions Trophy 2025 branding during the live broadcast of India’s match against Bangladesh in Dubai on Thursday.

During the telecast, the logo displayed in the top left corner showed only “Champions Trophy 2025”, without mentioning Pakistan as the host nation. This sparked controversy, given that Pakistan was officially awarded the tournament.

ICC Blames “Technical Error”

Sources suggest that the ICC informally attributed the omission to an early technical glitch rather than an intentional exclusion. However, the PCB has sought a formal explanation to clarify the situation.

The issue has raised questions about ICC’s stance on Pakistan’s hosting rights, especially amid ongoing geopolitical tensions affecting cricketing relations.
