Hoshiarpur, Gurpreet Singh :- A shocking incident has emerged from Village Bham in Hoshiarpur district, where a 99-year-old woman was found murdered inside her residence. The victim, identified as Joginder Kaur, was living alone at the time of the incident.
According to initial reports, her body was discovered inside a trunk kept within the house. The crime came to light when a milk vendor, who visited the residence as part of his routine delivery, noticed something unusual and alerted local residents.
Villagers immediately informed the police, who reached the spot and began an investigation. The elderly woman’s son is reportedly settled in Australia, while she had been residing alone in the village.
Police have taken the body into custody for post-mortem examination and initiated a detailed probe. A suspect, said to be a local resident and allegedly a drug addict, has been detained in connection with the case. Authorities indicated that further revelations are expected as the investigation progresses.
The incident has created fear and grief in the village, raising concerns about the safety of elderly individuals living alone.
