Moga (Gurpreet Singh): Acting on precise intelligence inputs, Moga Police have uncovered a major drug trafficking module, arresting three suspects and confiscating 5 kilograms of heroin in a targeted operation.
Authorities revealed that the arrested individuals had direct links with drug suppliers based outside India, pointing to a well-organized international smuggling network. This discovery has prompted further investigation into the group’s wider operations across state and national borders.
An FIR has been lodged at Police Station Sadar in Moga, and a detailed probe is currently in progress. Police teams are working to trace both the origins and potential destinations of the seized narcotics, with focus on identifying the handlers and couriers involved.
Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav commended the team’s swift action and reiterated the department’s resolve, saying, “Punjab Police remains steadfast in its commitment to dismantling drug syndicates and ensuring a safer, drug-free Punjab.”
This operation adds to a series of ongoing efforts by Punjab Police to disrupt drug supply chains and bring traffickers to justice. Investigators are now working to uncover the full scale of the network, including backward and forward linkages that may lead to further arrests in the coming days.
