National Times Bureau :- In a major success against cross-border drug trafficking, the Amritsar Rural Police and the Border Security Force (BSF) have jointly recovered 3 kilograms of high-purity ICE (methamphetamine) during a coordinated operation near village Bhaini Rajputan. The seized contraband is estimated to be worth several crores in the international market.
Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav shared details of the operation on X (formerly Twitter), calling it a “well-coordinated and swift action” between the police and BSF. The recovery was made during a surprise checking operation based on specific intelligence jointly developed by both agencies.
An FIR has been registered at the Gharyinda police station, and further investigations are underway to identify and dismantle the wider drug network connected to this consignment. SSP (Rural) Maninder Singh said that a detailed technical
investigation is being conducted to trace the suppliers and their local links.
Reaffirming the state’s firm commitment against narcotics, the SSP said that Punjab Police remains dedicated to making the state drug-free and warned that anyone involved in the illegal drug trade will face strict action.
