New Delhi, May 8, 2025 — Defence Minister Rajnath Singh revealed in an all-party meeting today that at least 100 terrorists were killed during India’s precision airstrikes under Operation Sindoor. The strikes, carried out across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, were launched in retaliation for the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 civilian lives.
According to Singh, the operation targeted nine terror camps using advanced weapons, including SCALP missiles and HAMMER bombs, striking key militant hubs in Bahawalpur, Muridke, and Muzaffarabad. He emphasized that the strikes were focused, and that India remains alert and prepared for any escalation, though it does not seek conflict.
The high-level briefing was attended by key political leaders, including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, MP Rahul Gandhi, TMC’s Derek O’Brien, NCP-SP’s Supriya Sule, and BSP’s Ritesh Pandey. Opposition leaders unanimously backed the armed forces and the government, with Kharge stating, “In this moment of crisis, we are with the government.”
The meeting comes amid heightened tensions along the India-Pakistan border, with diplomatic efforts ongoing to manage escalation. Singh noted that Operation Sindoor remains an active mission, with surveillance and strategic readiness continuing.
