Union Minister Manohar Lal Receives Cheques for Contribution to Trust

Memorial to Honour Legendary Courage and Sacrifice of Sikh Warrior Baba Banda Singh Bahadur

Chandigarh, July 13 — In a significant gesture towards preserving Sikh heritage, three philanthropists have collectively contributed ₹26 lakh to the Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Memorial Foundation Trust for the ongoing construction of a memorial in Lohgarh.

Union Minister for Power, Housing, and Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal, formally accepted the donation cheques in Chandigarh. Also present was Dr. Prabhleen Singh, Officer on Special Duty to the Haryana Government, who is actively associated with the Trust’s activities.

Among the donors were Mr. Harkaran Singh Boparai, Director of HBS and Space Five Architect Group, who donated ₹11 lakh; Mr. Ashok Sharma, President of AK Construction Group, who contributed ₹10 lakh; and Dr. Avneet Singh Wadaich, Member of the International Gita Mahotsav Authority and Founder of Wadaich Homeopathic Clinic, Pehowa, who gave ₹5 lakh.

The memorial in Lohgarh is being built under the guidance of the Foundation Trust in memory of the revered Sikh warrior Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, who established the first sovereign Sikh rule in India. The monument aims to stand as a symbol of his extraordinary bravery and sacrifice, preserving his legacy to inspire future generations about this illustrious figure in Indian history.
